:: NEW :: Gothic Landing Build

Detailed gargoyles surrounded by fine stone and iron work place this build in a unique architectural category somewhere between Notre Dame and some sort of oversized crypt from a dark fantasy.

Pictured here atop the Raven Tree Main Store on MGM in Second Life the Gothic Landing was designed to accompany your dark desires to new levels of enjoyment. Why is it called a 'Landing' you may ask? Well, it really makes a great central location or 'Landing Spot' for your dark themed SIMs. The included gargoyles are a refreshing new take on a common theme in Second Life. I spent hours and hours creating and texturing all the various gargoyle pieces and all the sculpts for the building itself, making sure the shadows all looked just right.
There is a large main-level gathering area that could serve easily as 'grand role play stage' or commercial space for the right kind of SL content creator. Above each of the four stairways is a small gathering spot or retail vendor display area—two are roof covered, while the other two are open air. Higher still is a large open deck area where gargoyles perch and keep lookout. Centered in this upper area is a 'hidden' room, the uses for which are limited only by its size and your imagination.
Two of the stairways can be lit with the included gargoyle lanterns – just touch them to turn the flame on or off. Actually, you can light as many as you want with the gargoyle lanterns because they are copy permission and separately linked from the main build.

Building Tip ---->> right click and edit the gargoyle lantern - hold down shift and drag one of the colored arrows to make a copy of the gargoyle lantern for use in other areas! Enjoy.
See more details on the build at SL Marketplace or come visit and explore its incredible 3D experience in-world.

Virtual Democracy in Second Life

Corporate America has a plan for you. Corporate America wants you fat and yet hungry for more. They want you stuffed with fast food and diabetic. They want you awake at 3am watching infomercials. They want your mind useless like a cold wet noodle. They want you sick and prescription dependent. And those that aren't sick, they want you too. They want you slaving away till you die so you can pay that mortgage forever.

Corporate America wants to shove the American Dream down your throat until you choke – they want to wash your brain with their version of enslaved freedom until you completely forget what true freedom even meant. They've had a plan for you since before you were born.

But they can't take away our freedom because we'll always have our right to choose—our ability to say no to the fast food, no to huge extravagant houses, no to cigarettes, no to a prescription for every known bad feeling under the sun, no no no!!!

They can't take that away.

That American freedom is mirrored within a virtual world known as Second Life. Widely known as the largest user created online virtual world of our time, and practically all built by its residents, Second Life runs on a majorly capitalistic micro-economy based on the almighty Linden Dollar. Residents are free thinking citizens if you will, free to socialize, build, work, develop, create, sell, educate, learn, and do just about anything (please see the Linden Labs TOS for governing law). They are free to dance, to fall in love, to practice all faiths, or partake in the many lifestyle communities that exist in Second Life or dream of those yet to be created.

Just like in America the on-going struggle to remain free while still being governed and living in a law abiding society is always apparent within Second Life. Just like in America Second Life's residents are a mixture of people that give of themselves, people that provide helpful services, people that invent and provide what others are willing to pay for, and people that are willing to break the laws of the land for their own personal gain. Another parallel, is the difficult task of bringing such ruthless people to justice—but just like in America where people don't want the federal government policing all their actions, residents of Second Life don't want Linden Lab turning into the equivalent of the CIA or worse.

Virtual life continues alongside the physical one with its residents facing many of the same challenges we all have as citizens of the real world. Second Life is not a utopia free from real life problems. It is however a grand and diverse virtual place to express ourselves, an environment where we connect with inner truths and like minded people in ways that can be difficult to accomplish anywhere else. Second Life is a place where, if left untouched by the reign of tyrannous governments, all peoples of developed nations and who have high speed internet access can become citizens of an online world where they are free to live as they please. Like America, Second Life is a free country as long as you can afford it.

Misha Fine Jewelry

Here I am feeling beautiful wearing new Misha Bangle Bracelets with Onyx. I just love the creative individualism Misha deftly imparts into each piece of jewelry she makes. It's obvious that she loves what she does and it shows! Misha Kerang is definitely one of Second Life's finest new jewelry artisans.

A highlight at DGD Fahion Mall on the Lanika SIM in Second Life, Misha's shop features precious gems as well.

Oh, and the lovely bag I carried home my new jewelry in looks so pretty on my shelf that I think I'll keep it there alongside my books and things. I look forward to shopping at Misha Fine Jewelry often because she is constantly releasing new designs that keep me coming back!

My Hair is from Wasabi Pills. It's called Earleen Hair.

Pictures following—this quaint stone cottage is the perfect centerpiece for many types of role play and nestles well amongst forests and hills and other homes with its impressive shapes and textures. With architecture that fuses Medieval and Gothic Revival styles it wows the senses in tantalizing ways.

Enjoy quiet evenings relaxing and chatting with friends. Or use the confining upper floor for endless role play situations.

Feast your eyes on the skillfully sculpted and textured stones of the exterior walls, and arches, and cornerstone columns.

In this picture the house controller can be seen glowing and orange to the right side of the entrance. The front gate and double sliding front doors are both individually lockable from the controller menu. With this menu operated controller you can do the following:

  • Open and close the front gate and front doors separately
  • Lock or unlock the front doors and front gate separately
  • Choose between four different textures for the windows separately for upstairs and downstairs
  • Choose opacity for the upstairs and downstairs windows separately
  • Choose window opacities ranging from 5% to 100%
  • Specify a special 'privacy mode' for the windows separately for upstairs/downstairs
  • Privacy mode features 35% opacity from the inside and yet 100% opacity from the outside so people can't see in

Drink in the quality of this finely built structure as you take note of its true divided light arch shaped windows.

At only 4 prims each, these windows, with their custom textured arches and sills, with their expertly sculpted wooden mullions, and with their menu changeable glass textures to fit many periods of history are just one of the many highlights of this gem of a cottage.

Give yourself the experience of owning a building that bleeds with creativity. This simple stone cottage can inspire otherworldly, dreamlike outer realms. Throughout history cottages such as this have left their nonhuman, but none the less powerful influences on humanity.

Looking angelic, the cottage is pictured here with some of the Redwood and fantasy trees and ferns from our "Redwood Forest Fantasy" packages. Available at the SL Marketplace online.

Here we see a view of one of the four window texture choices as well as the carefully crafted and sculpted exterior stonework.

Those that appreciate quality sounds in second life will enjoy the sound effects made especially for these items. The front slider doors and stairs use a Raven Tree professionally edited sound that includes an actual 'attack' when the doors close. The front gate has its own custom open and close sounds. These sounds are all professionally edited and layered with stereo quality and feature unique 'attack thumps' and 'sweeteners' that sync with the scripted movement of the gate and doors and interior stairs.

Looking through the lockable front gate past the open, yet lockable front doors and out through the rear window into the forest beyond. The dormer windows look out from the sculpted peaked roof atop the two story cottage.

Windows can be set to 'clear' as well as a range of opacities from 5% up to 100% and feature a menu operated 'privacy mode' that lets you see out while other can't see in.

All Raven Tree Creations products are carefully handcrafted and/or sculpted and are sure to add style and comfort to your Second Life.

Thank you for your interest. And please, feel free to IM with any questions. ~ Ginny Enzo
